No, even atheist Gator fans didn't bash Tebow.Because Jesus
What atheist club are you part of???No, even atheist Gator fans didn't bash Tebow.
There were fans calling for Brantley to start when the offense wasn't performing that well in '09 (at least up to the standards from the previous two seasons).Answer me this, PE: Why didn't Gator fans bash Tebow?
The % of Gator fans doing that was so small you'd need a microscope to see it.There were fans calling for Brantley to start when the offense wasn't performing that well in '09 (at least up to the standards from the previous two seasons).

Low hanging fruit there. Many of the morons could not stand Chris Leak. He was a pussy for sliding before the first down line.Answer me this, PE: Why didn't Gator fans bash Tebow?

He threw the ball away too often. He blah blah blah. Timmy was a mans man. He ran over people. He got the tough yardage.
He was the 2nd string QB, most popular player on many teams. Chris was VERY laid back. Timmy was John Wayne at the
Alamo. Booing either one, to me,would show your ignorance and class.......
Yeah, the fans got on him pretty hard. That’s when the infamous “shush” came out a few weeks later. Ox has never recovered. That note from mama was tame compared to some mama bears I know.
Absolutely love Grimes statement. The locker room is behind their QB and that is good to see.
Why didn’t they boo Tebow? Seriously? He was possibly the best college football in history. We vilified Franks well before he ever acted out. He didn’t perform well and many immediately began attacking his performance, his intelligence and his personal character.
I'm no longer up to the rigors of attending many games these days. Age, limited budget and increasing laziness have combined to pretty much take me out of the game, so to speak. But I have attended quite a few Gator games over the years and I don't recall ever booing an individual Gator player after a mistake. However, being both a fan and a human being, I have been known to cuss a blue streak at the TV on occasions too numerous to mention - last Saturday being a notable example. I have also, along with many others, expressed my concerns and less than glowing opinions of a player's performance and conduct in forums such as this one.
I do agree that "character" issues can be a very delicate issue, and that booing a Gator player at BHG is not constructive, nor is it "the class thing to do." But calling out poor play, or overtly obnoxious conduct during a game, is not "character assassination" - especially in light of the growing series of incidents of both types on he part of our current QB. In my personal experience, anyone who enters any public arena is going to have to deal with criticism, some of it pretty pointed at times. And I sincerely hope that FF can grow into the best player and the best person that he can possibly be. I would respectfully suggest that a greater willingness to learn from his mistakes, and to take responsibility for them, would be a good start. Go gators.
This is a massive overstatement and exaggeration. His intelligence ON THE FIELD, sure. I still question that. His personal character? Who was doing that?We vilified Franks well before he ever acted out. He didn’t perform well and many immediately began attacking his performance, his intelligence and his personal character.

This is the best post in the entire thread. Love him or hate him he is not going anywhere. He may be somewhat improved year over year but nothing substantial. I can’t stand him, but I am glad he shaved his scrotum. That’s an improvement.I try hard to like Franks but he's hard for me to like with his immaturity and showboating. Sometimes you wonder how the guy ever found his way out of Crawfordville. But there is one thing about him, and that's he never seems to lose his confidence. He's never gun shy. He can make the stupidest mistake, but he always bounces back. He's erratic; no question about that. But he's talented; no question about that either. He's confident. He plays with passion. He's his own guy. He is what he is. You can take him or leave him. He doesn't care. I like him and I don't like him at the same time.

Marine and PE, you guys would absolutely rip Franks up and down every which way if he acted (and played) the same way for one of our rivals. You leap to his defense because he wears the orange and blue, and we all get that. Just be honest about it. Our defenders would be licking their chops to take the block off a QB that acted like Franks.
Agree with you 100% on booing Gators. Due to a bunch of circumstances I haven’t been to a game at BHG in a while, but now with a son at UF we will make two games this year. (We also made the Peach Bowl last year.) At home I’ll yell at the TV, but in person I can’t boo a college player unless it’s an opponent who makes a dirty play. To me, they’re just kids.I'm no longer up to the rigors of attending many games these days.
