Coaching will really come into play this week. They have real strengths and we do to. Can we maximize ours while trying to neutralize
theirs? I LOVE games like this. Traditional rival at home with national implications.........does not get much better.

If our defense goes into October believing hype built on results against weak opposition we’ll get rolled.

I like the numbers because showing well as freshmen and sophomores suggests these kids have high talent ceilings in many cases and as a unit, but if they get over confident they’ll get ground up by elite veteran teams.

We should smack Chump in the face. As far as Aub/ LSU/ UGA, I think we should pull one out of those three games. Losing all three would be a big disappointment. If I had to pick, I would pick us beating UGA and losing to LSU and Auburn.

The good thing is we have been building depth the first four games. They are playing lots of young guys. I see them run new guys in and out all the time. I think we learned our lesson last year with UK. And Savage has gotten them much stronger and fitter for hit you in the mouth games.......

We are never going to get to the point that our 240lb DL will be strong enough to survive getting punched by 310 pound SEC OL.

I have no concern about the LSU game. None. My God, are they are overrated crap team just waiting to be exposed. That's going to be a double digit win, and an easy one at that.

Auburn and UGA are better than LSU.

No, but we do have a little bit of depth that’s seen live action.

Well for one, it's our homecoming.
DM has to take good aim with Trask. OL pass blocking needs to hold up for lapsed time so Trask can hunt and fire.
IMO DM should not start the game with easily stopped Perine - use Pierce lots, with M.Davis interspersed.
Use Copeland.
Turn our WR corpse loose on them in every way possible. Take advantage of Trask's quick release.
Our D needs to match Zuniga and Greenard's effectiveness i.e. fire up and fire out. HIt 'em as a teeming front.
Above all else, do not go flat or loose faith against this stampeding herd. Call their bluff.

From what I've seen, Auburn matches up with up better than anyone else on our schedule, with Ugly being a close second.
A win vs Auburn will be HUGE for this team, but a loss wouldn't be the end of the world either.
I think we match up well against LSU if we stay healthy.
The Ugly game is going the biggest game of the year for us.
Let's hope we can go in to the Mizzou game with only one loss (if not undefeated) and Mizzou is ranked with only one loss.
That should put us in a prime-time game against them which I think favors us.
Either way, in that scenario we most likely control our own destiny for the east.
I really don't want an early game in November against Mizzou.

we're not a gimme for them

I was hesitant about how this game would go, but now I’m inspired. We’ve got this ...

Really though, WTF has the Holey Trinity of Sh!t (Foley, Chump and Butters) done to the Gators where we would have a loyal, years long posting Gators fan even have his fingers push these buttons about G-d Damn Auburn.

At the end of this month I hope my prognostication abilities are in shambles because I'm saying we go 1-3. Our o-line is just that bad. And we never do well with SEC grind it out running teams. In addition, we have become very adapt at giving up 3rd and a mile. I'll be there cheering them on and hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Our scoring since Kyle Trask stepped on the field: 91-3.

You guys are still stuck on the pre-Trask Gators. It's a different team now, a different mentality, a team with an actual leader behind center that has the offense actually believing they can pick up first downs without pulling teeth.

Florida beats Auburn easily. We are going to jump out to an early lead, forcing Auburn to throw more than they'd like, which in turn will force their mediocre freshman QB into continued mistakes. I'm thinking a runaway win at that point.

Auburn is very good but we can win this game. Old Texas coach Darrell Royal supposedly said "it's not about the X's and O's, it's about the Jimmy's and Joe's".
I believe our Jimmy's and Joe's can for the most part match up with AU. The OL and match up with their DL is still a real concern. Mullen and staff can put together the X'S and O's to win the game. Our D is the key and we have protect the edges and not allow Nix or their speed to get outside. If we can shut down the run and make Nix throw we have a better shot to slow them down. The real show is that both head coaches do a great job in play calling, and imo the game will come down to who does the better job of keeping the other D off balance. Running between the tackles doesn't appear to be an option, and we may need to use our speed to attack the edges as well. Loud crowd, get ahead early, and put it away late. Tough match up but we can win.

Auburn ... we could win or we could get stomped. I have no idea how that game is going to go and won't be surprised by any result. Gus is a wildcard. Sure, their passing game is crap but their running game is very good and our running D sucks putting it nicely. On offense, Trask is moving that ball around the field nicely but he has no running game at all to count on. Auburn DL is good. Our OL sucks. I think if we played 10 games they win more than we do but I have no clue who wins on Saturday.

LSU and UGA ... they gonna roll us. Hope I am wrong.

USC ... at the beginning of the season I thought this was a lock. With Bentley still QBing, I still say it would be a lock. Now after watching our team fail at blocking and stopping the run, no clue.

I got us at 1-3 or 2-2. And it makes me sad. And I hope I am wrong. The positive I have is that I look at my Pick'em results and see that I am horrible at this stuff so that is the only comfort I have going into our real schedule.

Trickeration could really help our O against their DL. Put Jones and Trask in the game at the same time and do some double passes, etc. D has trouble against mobile QBs so they'll have to stay disciplined (if that's even possible for this D) or else Nix could shred us with his legs.

This sounds great on paper but for some reason (almost as if it's never practiced) our QBs can't seem to throw a deep ball. It's either always underthrown or overthrown never hit on stride. I don't think it's ever practiced and it shows in games. Look back to the UGA last year as an example 14 points taken off the board because the ball was not put where it's supposed to be. Trask missed a wide open Wr last game because it was over thrown.

The sucky part is every time we run a trick play that is supposed to go down field the play works but it's not executed by the Qb.

I love the optimism but Trask has only played against Kentucky, Tennessee, and Towson...basically the equivalent of 2 fcs opponents and a mediocre Kentucky team. We haven’t even been able to establish the run vs these crap ass teams like Tennessee Martin and Towson. It’s gonna take some creative coaching to get this done
