Indicting Lochte would be pointless, it's not like we would extradite an American citizen over something as stupid as this. Lochte is still a certified dumbass, though.

The two other swimmers recanted.
Gee, I can't imagine why. Spent at least 6 months in some south american shythole or say WHATEVER Pablo do Policia tells you to say.

Besides, they recanted what? That they were robbed in a cab instead of robbed by the cabbie? Which still isn't clear I might add. The police themselves admit they pulled a gun on the swimmers and they extorted money from them, some with their hands in the "hands up don't shoot pose". (We should note that no actual robberies were committed by the gentle giants in the hands up pose.)

Did anyone even watch that damn video with the robbery in the cab by the security guard? These freakin third world cockroaches think that video somehow HELPS their case?

Wouldn't you think that if pulling a gun on violators was justified then a simple arrest should be done,
even if just for a desk appearance ? I realize the brigands were totally drunk, unruly.
And if there was an unknown cab, why did not the security guard note it before letting it take the shallow swimmers onward to the village ?

It appears to me that Lochte was sober enough to concoct a harrowing tale that showed him
distinguished as the only brave one of his group ... and thus the more admirable human being.
Convincing the others, who probably just wanted to crash, that it would be so hilarious to allow
him to devise such a tale. And so he did, while they were still in their fog, the next day.
Lochte schemed over his "friends". Slimy character he.

In many of those countries like that the police and sometimes security just expect a payoff from the tourist not to have them arrested for something like drunk vandalism or other minor crimes. That is how its done in Mexico with the cops usually.

When I posted the comment I had not heard anything about a guy trying to get his money back with a gun

Yes, I tried to write my post as criticism of the media(ots) not you. They are the ones that cover this for a living and really should have thought about Simpson stewing away in a Nevada prison or gotten a legal opinion before they ran with the Brazilian side of this story as if it were ok for a security guard to commit armed robbery to recover his boss' alleged losses.

The media and the USOC dont seem to care security pulled a gun and are just pushing they lied about being robbed and having their wallets stolen etc. because video at different places show that isnt the case. Lochte has some big money sponsors who might bail if the USOC really comes down hard on them.

If the "boys" (Lochte is 31 by the way) had decided to bust up a rest room in the wrong part of Chicago or Baltimore, they would not have lived to make up a series of lies about what happened.

The thing is their stories are proven false by video at the place and videos shown later that night/morning. It shows them with some of the stuff they claim was stolen later on. It sounds like the one kid may have busted something up in the bathroom then they were confronted by security who pulled a gun out and they ended up giving him money for the damages/payoff.

It almost sounds like if Lochte didn't tell his mommy a fib that she ran to the news with this story wouldn't have got out. I guess you don't think about videos and the country coming after you so hard for it. Brazil must be loving the press eating this up with the sh*t show they put on.

agree about not telling his mom.

in the meantime, a British athlete and 2 Australians were also robbed in the past few days. probably more reason for Brazilian authorities to keep pushing this story to the forefront

So Lochte lied about what happened. Who will really know. So things in Rio are legit they say. Ok, lets pull the Olympians off the plane and hold them until they pay a charity to be released. Sounds no matter the deal, they're crooked.

This story keeps getting better and better. The smartest thing Lochte did was leave ASAP after the incident. But, I wonder if he feels bad for leaving the others behind.

What are you talking about? They said they were robbed in a taxi and the video shows they got robbed in a taxi. The fvkking Brazilians just think its ok for "police" (and security) to rob Americans.

Lochte says the guy pointed a gun at his head and there is, conveniently, three mins of tape missing just at that time.

Why the fvkk would any of you believe those Brazilian pieces of shyt?

I completely agree. I do business in Brazil, and trust nothing that comes from there, especially from the government/Police. It's the most corrupt of the 34 countries i do business in.

I agree it was probably the typical shakedown they do over there even if one of them did some minor damage to the bathroom. Brazil is loving that video shows them with their wallets and watches and stuff like that when they are going in for the night afterwards to say they are lying. The reality is both sides are lying some it appears. Lochte can blame himself the most for all this happening however if that is true it only got out because he told his mom he was robbed.

Just stumbled onto this :
Before the Olympics, Ralph Lauren was chosen to stitch the choice casual wear
outfits for the USA Olympians. All photoshoots ... possibly video commercials were
recorded ahead of the Olympics. Can you guess which Olympian represents our
U.S. & Lauren designer wear ?? Yep, you surmise wise = Ryan Lochte, the US star.

Will Lauren scrap and quickly reshoot spots ? Lochte calls to mind nothing positive -
- not an example to follow. Lochte may have to refund some prior payments on
contracts for 2016 onward image uses.?? Certainly, if the concept parallel to some
implied warranty can be made.?? For sure, "the Lochte-effect" should create a new
way such prior contracts are written.

Didn't that women sent to prison for tax-fraud, loan-fraud, get out and resume her
part on the TV show = Real Hussywives of New Jersey ? See, criminality begins to
fit as a success-move.?? Where on earth could the people of this nation be learning
criminality pays bigger than honest character ??
