Speaking of that game, since all the other night games sucked ballz except for OU-ISU, I was watching some of the ARK+Cowbell game. Okay I thought ARK would go O-fer this year, but I want to give props to that coaching staff and the way they chose to defend Cowbell. After watching LSU get blitzed trying to play man to man, the ARK D went zone on every play with either 3 or 4 man rush. Their guys played with smarts, discipline and were aggressive to guys entering their zones and did not allow anyone to get behind them. I began to ponder if we could be smart enough to play zone and defend 70+ pass attempts in a game and the easy answer was NO. We get lost with our man concepts. There would be no way we could play zone, watch QB eyes, with head on a swivel. Just want to give props to those ARK coaches who came up with the plan and executed it well. That will be the new blueprint in the SEC against Cowbell even for those teams that are loaded with talent in the back 7 on D, of which we are not one of.
