BBall analysts expected White to form these Gator players into one of the top teams in the SEC? Ten other SEC coaches have put together top teams in the nation. Compare that.
Players play in games the ways they practice. For every team, practices are where coaching corrects poor play -- not getting open, shooting off-balance, standing around dumbfounded, delivering passes too slowly, not positioning for rebounds, shooting without a teammate in rebound position, no mind towards a collective penetration plays, etc. etc. Again, a team's players perform the way they are taught, the way they're directed in practice.
Highly paid coaches study players and apply "trial-changes", rehearsing for improvements. I know that these suggestions are generalities but watched from overhead this team is generally failing at worthwhile basketball.
Playing time distribution = Hudson gets 17 minutes to contribute a harmful 2-8 FG, while Ballard gets 12 minutes contributing 3-3 FG. Could a coach develop something more reliable there? seize a betterment, grind in an advantage? Hudson's 8 shots taken by any other 1, 2, or 3 Gators would have given us the win. For the season Hudson is a 31% FG shooter. Allen hit 66% FG and he took only 6 shots 4-6, 2-2 in 3s. Could a coach effect this flaw, right there from the sidecourt? Could a coach drill some team template into this randomness? Etc.,etc.
