Parents and sports seem when combined to throw common sense out the window.

Ain't that the truth. I'm guilty of it myself.

Back when my kid was playing Pop Warner football as an 8 year old and I was coaching, my wife took some videos of the games and seeing the way I reacted to plays going wrong was down right embarrassing. It made me re-evalute and change a lot of the ways I interacted with the kids for the rest of the time I coached sports. From that day forward no more whiteboards were broken or visors thrown.

And nothing about Will's little brother possibly roiding up while on dancing with the stars. I smell conspiracy.

Talk to your son Dad and not to the media.

I think it's a fair assumption that he's talked to his son about this.

Then again, maybe his dad turned him in! #conspiracy

The only people who UF needs to tell what he took are is the NCAA and I bet they have done that. The rest of us need to move on and wait for the results of the appeal

It's a shame Will didn't choose to rape a girl, beat up his pregnant girlfriend, or punch a random girl in the face at a bar instead. The NCAA would be far more forgiving under those circumstances.

If it's absolute crap I'd come out and say it and make it out to be Walgreens and GNC Etcs problem. If it simple as it sounds then public could rally around it and make NCAA look like crap. I want to believe it was a mistake but if I was Will and innocent I'd be blowing this up for the crap it is. Say I'm tryingto protect little league kids etc from the trap I was caught in

The more he says the less I believe him
I don't disbelieve him, but there is nothing to say. When you are deep in a hole, stop digging. STFU and keep it out of the headlines.

Unless it was Viagra and he's going to tell us-- or even better show us pictures-- of that stripper from Tampa whom Will was banging.

Hope Will gets a penalty reduction to allow full Soph.-Jr. seasons of UF's new NFL-potential QB. First in quite awhile.
That will make Mac an attraction for other star-quality QBs. Go Gators.

Doesn't matter what he took. It was a banned substance and he's admitted that he took it and he has to deal with the consequences. He won't get it reduced. So, see you next year Will.

So you agree that smoking pot gets you a one game suspension and this gets you a year? I think its pretty silly. If he were juicing and injecting steroids, I would agree. If he had a track record then maybe. Just to be clear I agree he did wrong and deserves some kind of punishment just not one this harsh.

I got news for ya, bruh, Grier is eligible to go pro after next year, even if next year is six games.

I take it as a good sign that Grier will be back next season battling Harris for the starting job. I do. I don't blame Chad Grier for doing what he's doing. There's a real risk that the media and fans could turn on Will Grier, esp if the remainder of the schedule sees a number of losses. It's the way the pubic is wired, to want to find a scapegoat when things go wrong. The old man is simply trying to get out in front of the PR spin by letting it be known how innocent of a mistake it was. And I believe his every word. I'm rooting for Will Grier.

I wish Chad Grier were my father. I'd rob banks just for him to tell the world how much he loves me.

Yeah, coz chugging a protein shake from GNC is exactly the same as robbing banks.

My guess is that all the secrecy is the lawyers telling him to shut up until the appeal. Worse case scenario he was doing something truly embarrassing and taking pills that just made one part of his body larger. It would classify as a PED.
