That was quick. What did he pay you?Take the second quote out of your sig or face a ban. You have 15 minutes.

Kiffin was fired following that ASU loss in the early morning hours after touching down at a private airport near LAX. The episode was famously reported as Haden axing Kiffin right there on the tarmac near the team plane.I seriously want to hire him and then fire him at the airport. USC can't be the only team cool enough to fire his stupid ass and leave him.
That is the coolest fricking thing any AD has EVER done.Kiffin was fired following that ASU loss in the early morning hours after touching down at a private airport near LAX. The episode was famously reported as Haden axing Kiffin right there on the tarmac near the team plane.
“I was a good 20 yards off the tarmac,” Kiffin said.
It was actually a private room near the team bus where Haden broke the news. Kiffin tried to talk his boss into being able to coach the rest of the season after a 3-2 start. Haden didn’t budge.
“I had no idea at all,” Kiffin said. “It totally caught me off guard. I got off the plane. I put my bag on the bus. I was going to sleep at the facility. Someone came and said, ‘Pat wants to see you.’ I left my briefcase on the bus.”
The next time he saw that briefcase, a staffer had delivered it to his house. Kiffin was driven home that night by a team security person.
I have and I have seen numerous mathematicians who lacked common sense and psychologists who entered the field to try to understand their own peculiarities. However, the ignorance and misinformation exhibited by RG was of a different sort. It was either a deliberate hoax or a young person lacking in education and knowledge pretending to be something else.
I've found myself becoming Bob-curious too. Saw a rumor somewhere that LSU might also be in on Stoops... I didn't like the sound of that. He's proven he can build an organization. And his interview after the USC job opened sounded like he was ready to coach again. This would be an amazing hire and the absolute best case scenario we could hope for. I didn't think Bob Stoops was a realistic option because I just assumed he was done with coaching
We've heard that before...But he is a Midwest Boy. Some Big 10 Gig will open up soon.
I wouldn't expect anything until Sunday at the earliest. The deal will allow Napier to coach his championship game, of course. No announcement yet?
Please, dear swaddled baby Jesus, let them settle for Mark Stoops.@ESPNRittenberg: Had heard Bill O’Brien’s name at LSU earlier this week and hearing Mark Stoops more today. Could be 2 and 3 on AD Scott Woodward’s list. But only if No. 1 says no again (and again … and again ).
If Fickell is truly staying put, that means Aranda (left coast guy) is prolly going to USC and corndog gets stuck with the fat Stoops or O'Brien. Please, dear swaddled baby Jesus, let them settle for Mark Stoops.
I agree with your last two points, but first point of him being a good preparation and game day coach is incorrect...our special teams simply blew all four years. To me, as a CEO and head coach, you should have all 3 facets of your team prepared, just like Urban did. Dan The Can clearly didn't GAF about special teams (outside McPherson and Townsend). Even Spur Dog stressed special teams. That is simply not true. His preparation and game day coaching was very good.
He just did not recruit to the level needed to compete with Bama and UGa and the like.
His coaching could not overcome that when he got a year with less talent. His coaching could not overcome recruiting this year.

In the end, I think Mullen's ego simply got in his own way and it's why he has/had a ceiling. Details. Details. Details. Hence why the most anal retentive coaches (Saban, Belichick, etc.) are focused on attention to details.
My question is this, and it's curiosity what others think...was Trask better than we all thought and he simply needed opportunity to show it or was Trask a byproduct of Mullen and his ability to development and adapt his O to Trask? Because he wasn't able to develop Franks (his biggest issue was in between the ears) so was Mullen clearly responsible for Trask or was Trask responsible for Trask?Mullen > McElwain > Muschamp, in doing the job that needs to be done at UF. Muschamp and McElwain thought that UF's fans would be happy with a bad offense. Mullen's offense was much much better than either of them.
To stay the UF coach you must win with a good offense. This job eats coaches alive with poor offenses. Think about Mullen. Did Grantham get him fired? Not really, what got him fired was not playing the best QB and putting a poor offense on the field this year. Maybe it was loyalty, maybe it was stubornness, but Mullen seemingly never understood how little credit he got with the fan base for Trask because Mullen waited for an injury to play him.

I think I see a problem here. My source is Joe.My source is 46
