Mullen just told reporters at a Polk County speaking event that UF is not considering adding a transfer QB. He's either sandbagging or we can just shut all this down right now.

He can't say about somebody that has not even made the decision to transfer. He's still on the roster at OSU. Also notice the qualifier "right now".

Best case:

Mullen is playing 4D chess with the "right now" part of the comment because the NCAA may pass legislation in June that allows players to transfer without restrictions or redshirts to athletes with a 3.0 or better GPA.

If that happens Mullen's slow play might open the possibility of us getting ... wait for it ... Jalen Hurts.

We've become all about sloppy seconds.

If Jalen or Joe want to come in and help us get things re-set, fine. Mullen did go out and get a youngster in EJ with loads of promise who is a fit for his system and who we'll be seeing a lot more of soon enough. Swiping him off Creyer and Satan remains a big accomplishment for his early tenure that I won't downplay. There's just nothing of quality ahead of him....

Zero. He wont be released to an SEC team ever.

if the proposed rule changes to transfers are voted to the fullest in June, they would take effect in October and remove any restrictions an institution could place on a player's destination.

Jalen would turn us down only to do Satan a solid, not because Bammer could block it.

He could just as easily end up at LSU if the rules go thru. Their QB situation is as bad as ours.

Still difficult to see him going to a West Conference rival Bama plays every year. Not sure when we play them next in a regular season game.

The questions would be regarding the timeline of the rules change and what players on transfers could/could not do and when.
