We have a loaded offense but how well will the O Line perform?
2012 run game really didnt have its moments. Remember we had to bring in two extra linemen as TEs to do anything and getting to 20 points even vs an sec team usually required defensive points.I’m trying to think of the last time we had a good offensive line for the entire season. I know 2012 had moments in the run game...

Of course, through the last 15 years most of our OL problems have been exacerbated if not caused by piss poor (and incredibly predictable) offensive play calling.
And some very inconsistent and often poor recruiting. During that time frame, how many 5* OLs have we signed who actually lived up to their billing?Of course, through the last 15 years most of our OL problems have been exacerbated if not caused by piss poor (and incredibly predictable) offensive play calling.

Chaz Green(4*). And Humphries wasn't terrible. All I got. The rest seem to be either busts, or 2-3* players that played about like what we should've expected. And my goodness, over the last 20 years I couldn't tell you how many JuCo's we've brought in that were horrific.
OLs probably need the most development (other than QB) of any position. If they go Juco they’ve lost 2 years of development. That’s the reason I think it doesn’t work.
Honestly, Im not concerned about 5 star linemen. They usually suck and are just trying to get to the NFL as quickly as possible. Our last few 5 star linemen have been dudes with pulses who were useless in yr 1& 2 and barely mediocre in Yr 3 and gone. Most 5 stars are athletes who can dunk a basketball but not ready yet. I get that is the way NFL likes them but Im only concerned about college production not what they will develop to be later. And some very inconsistent and often poor recruiting. Probably didnt even know the playbook yet.Trent Brown was a JUCO, he was a starter but didn't really stand out.

We did that during Urban's years too. I remember having an OT (Jason Watkins) wearing # 89. Of course, you probably were a Canes fan back then so you won't remember.2012 run game really didnt have its moments.
