I'm good with either Frost or Kelly. Let's just hope either happens soon so that we can move on from this steaming pile of crap of a season.

Hmmm. Well ... I spent 22 years in the Army. If you are up on current events you know that meant I was gone a lot and often. I missed a lot of time with my kids, including the first year of one of them. That kinda skews my perspective on things I guess.

Kudos to you for your service and for your understanding of family. It's not a perfect situation not having the father around all the time, but it's probably more workable for a college football coach than an enlisted officer off at duty. And something tells me Frost puts in just as much work at UCF as he would at UF.

I don't see why it is so hard to accept SF would want to stay where he is at for another year. Timing is everything. I know most read that and think it is a point to be made about coaching jobs that are currently opening up and it is a no brainer to leave UCF for one of them. But that doesn't always motivate people that are focused and driven towards a goal. He just had a kid. He has stability. If he truly believes in himself then he knows many jobs will be there for him when he is ready to go.

I'm guessing he's turning down at least a $2M raise. And he runs the risk of having a down year next year. Like a player that declares early for the draft you go as soon as you can because you don't know what the future holds. A lot can change in a year.

Anyone in the coaching profession is going to miss one hell of a lot of time with his kids. Period. It's the life they lead. If you can't go all in, you won't make it in coaching.

Guys just wondering. Didn't Chip usually do the CBS broadcasts??? Noticed he wasn't there today.

UCF could end up going 6-6 next season and suddenly the bloom is off the rose for Frost. He's a fool if he doesn't leave that dump.

@JeffBarlis: If the Gators were going to hire Chip Kelly, they would have been free to do so already. Give it a few days, then ask yourself why nothing has been announced.

My gut as well as my understanding of the situation continues to tell me it's still Scott Frost.

Anyone disagree?

If we get into the first week of December with no announcement than it’s obviously not Kelly. I’m really hoping for one this week. Kelly would be a home run hire for sure.

An opportunity like UF is worth grabbing now. Next 6 years, Frost's son will hardly care if they wind up moving frequently chasing the coach's climb. Plus I wouldn't want my newborn breathing in all the confluence of auto fumes collecting in Orlando.

Totally agree. But all-in doesn't equate to having to take a job when it might not be right? Not everyone is driven by $$$. I think the real thing he is turning down in his mind is he knows a NC at UCF isn't a possibility. That is the decision point he is probably looking at.

I don't know anything. I am not connected. I am just thinking through the thought of how apropos it could be to turn down the job at UF to stay at UCF.

I hope we get him ... or Kelly. To be honest ... those are the only two coaches that make my nipples hard.

Because they just agreed to it :dunno: Doesn't seem hard to understand.
@JeffBarlis: Y'all, please stop saying Chip Kelly is coming to Florida. It's so obviously a misdirection, and the sources are weak. Do I have to remind you why McElwain failed – his personality was a bad fit. Kelly makes no sense.

And there it is. There's no way he stays at UCF unless he truly believes the right opportunity (for him and family) has not appeared yet.

I can see the misdirection part but that isn't going to last long. Now as an incentive to get Frost on board makes some sense.

Hardest thing for me to buy was that Frost wanted to stay at UCF to make them more attractive to the B12. That ain't happening any time in the near future. To me that's the hole in the rumor.
