For whomever was creeping on mama:
Are you looking in the mirror?
For whomever was creeping on mama:
That little brother is supposed to be a better prospect than Ethan. Are you looking in the mirror?
Just for Ox:
Again, we'll see. I sound like byrd? He defended Gator players no matter how awful they are. Sounds like I'm being the opposite of byrd. You sound like JByrd, @oxrageous ... you can't seem to give credit where credit is due and hold on to the negative with regards to Franks no matter what happens.
It was a spring game with very little meaning but he sure didn't disappoint and seems to be the clear leader of the offense. He finished last season strong and look even sharper in the spring game. But the knock on Franks has always been how he responds to adversity in the moment (not over his career) and not so much when things are going well. We will have to wait 4 months to see.
And JByrd is a twatwaffle.

Franks has an opportunity to win back all the fans he alienated. I hope he does if it means we're winning games.
EJ said:I see [Coach] developing Feleipe,'' Jones said. "I've seen how much Feleipe has grown over the past year. It's just crazy.
I hope he figures it out fairly soon. If the optimists (not sure anybody here actually pumps when it comes to FF) are correct about his improvement, then FF will probably go pro after next season (and given his measurables & the NFL's idiocy when it comes to drafting QBs), quite possibly in the 1st round. I bet we will see a lot of packages for EJ next season to get him more experience. One thing that we need to acknowledge is EJ is nowhere near ready to take the reins, from FF or anybody.
Franks completed 35% of his passes last year while under pressure. That is horrendous. His performance in the spring game is absolutely meaningless, whether it was good or bad. Teams are going to be watching a lot of film and pressuring Franks relentlessly. We will find out very quickly (likely against Miami) how far he's come. I'm in a wait-and-see approach.Yes ... the opposite ... but the method is the same, which is what I was trying to communicate.
Franks didn't alienate fans. He alienated people who booed him instead of sympathizing with having to be coached by Nuss and Butters.
By the way ... here is a quote about Franks from his back up QB:

I thought Franks had plenty of time to throw. Granted no blitzing, but still he had time to look off safeties and go to his secondary receiver. I have been one of his greatest critics but he looked like a different quarterback. He has made huge strides. People need to layoff the Heisman talk until he plays some meaningful games.I think there is plenty of meaning in the spring game. He threw under pressure pretty well, he hit receivers in stride and he showed he had a handle on the offense. Its clear he is the best QB, through his spring ball performance as well as the spring game. Nobody wins the heisman at a spring game, but they definitely can prove they aren't winning anything at a spring game ... and his performance didn't take him out of heisman talk. So ... like you, its a wait and see approach for (and probably everybody) as well. However, with that said ... the OL is scary and not sure we are going to be able to blame Franks when things dont work out at the beginning of the season like we hope. Its deeper than Franks. I just hope he can react quick.
Point I am making ... we are all in a "wait and see" position, but it sure isn't hard, nor wrong, to recognize that he is our best QB and isn't the lost angry guy he was under Butters&Nuss.

Didn’t he also look “sharp” in last year’s spring game that was designed to highlight the offense... just like this year’s? I hope he continues to develop and that his late season improvement was because he got better... not because he was playing bad or undermanned defenses. Based on his history and the poor OL play, I’m not optimistic. You sound like JByrd, @oxrageous ... you can't seem to give credit where credit is due and hold on to the negative with regards to Franks no matter what happens.

I don’t think he ever said anything other than “we will see”. You’re making it a huge deal and putting words in his mouth.
The best predictor of the future is the past. I don’t think being skeptical is out of line.
I think Franks is our best QB right now – and he has all the physical tools. But how is he going to perform when the pressure becomes suffocating? I hope he performs well, but nothing from his past performance says that he will. Mullen is doing a lot for him right now because he so worried about his psyche.
I feel good about the Joneses. If Franks can’t do it, I think we have guys in the wings (for the first time in a long time) that can perform.
