"Extorted". Nice.I like the Patreon idea, folks who contribute all the time are probably going to pay and stay. Not crazy about being extorted $60.

AgreedI think it comes down to this. We are either "in all kinds of weather" guys (and gals) or not. Im not gonna give up
on MY team since 1965 ever. I may see my enthusiasm wane (may be from age) but Im wearing the orange and blue on game day, curssing dwags noles and vols , arguing for my team coaches etc. So if the best gator forum now cost a little more Im still in,.......
There is no question that this is true... I've never been less hopeful, but I think this place is a lot more than football. There are some really, really smart people here who I otherwise wouldn't have access to and that's worth the price of admission to me. Your mileage may vary though.I am not sure I would pay, and it doesn't have much to do with Gator Chatter honestly, it is just complete apathy about the program. Game day doesn't really mean much to me anymore. 14 years of a clown show of a football program has just taken it out of me.
I'll double Ox's price if you just email me weekly updates from the board... should only take about a paragraph of notes... perhaps even less.Instead of paying Ox 60 dollars, you pay me 10 dollars a month.
My man, you will regret taking that path. I started a Chat room back in the GSMB days and it was a terrible experience! I made some good friends but all in all, it was a huge suckage........If people want a free discussion board, I can create one. It would have a few Google ads to just help pay the expenses. I would not be doing it to make money.
And I would need several volunteers (moderators) to help enforce the rules.
What say ye?
I think it is unthinkable to sell a bunch of lifetime memberships and then cancel them.

Hey, if people just came in to troll or cause trouble, I would not withhold the ban stick. I do not have much tolerance for people like that.My man, you will regret taking that path. Just count the Lifetime membership as a down payment, you have received enough good content over the years to more that justify the little bit of money you've spent.
I always figured ox was a democrat........I know. It’s like a lifetime agreement was made, and then *poof*, just over.
leave it to a lawyer to have all the answers/solutions and rules...............Problem with visitors seeing thread titles is that they are boring. A visitor’s interest in a forum will often be determined by glancing at the thread titles to see what’s being discussed.
We have a recruiting thread. That’s it. It’s the recruiting thread. If you are a visitor and click it for the first time you’ll see posts from months ago. You’d have to read for hours to catch up. However, if we had new thread titles for new developments, that would be enticing. “4 Star Tackle Verbally Commits!” where the first post is about the recruit in question is more enticing than “2024 Recruiting Thread” where the first post is a year old.
A DJ Lagaway thread where we comment on his 7 TDs in the first half is a bigger hook than having the info buried on page 147 in a generic titled thread.
A single game thread makes sense for the game itself, but a pre-game thread about our DL versus their OL creates more interest. If it’s all buried in the game thread, you don’t even know that particular issue is being discussed and you may not want to plow through 42 pages to find out what has been discussed.
If you want to tempt a guest to turn into a paying member, you need more, fresher, and narrower subject threads. Ox likes a tidy and orderly forum organized a certain way. He (and others) consume content broadly. He wants to read all the posts. Guests aren’t there (yet). They are more enticed by a buffet that makes it easier for them to sample small bites of the specific content they are most interested in.
I also thought the “lifetime membership” was kind of a joke. Too cheap for too much.
PF should be pay only. Not the place for lurkers.
Current lifetime members should get some benefit (maybe free membership but with limited ads?).
No nudity. Don’t need it.
I kinda like writing sh!t and fuchs. It’s part of our unique culture (along with mom jokes and TWSS). One change please— I hate that I can write ass and hole but if I make it one word it comes out as *******. Give us that word.
Alex.
As far as the cussing, I too like the character of saying things like fuchs instead of ****s. Maybe make it to when somebody types ****s it automatically converts to the time tested variant fuchs. Otherwise this board will devolve into a Penthouse Forums story.Problem with visitors seeing thread titles is that they are boring.
