How about the vaunted USC finishing at 15th or the all mighty Michigan at 17?
Good points. This was Lincoln Riley’s bump class as well. Many - including me in the interest of full disclosure - wanted him for UF, but his recruiting in a talent rich area has left a lot to be desired. As for Harbaugh, this is a normal class for him. He benefits from a so-so schedule that pretty much allows him to focus on one game. Wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they lost to TCU.

I’m not sure the bump is what it used to be. Still critical, and still indicative but not a perfect look at what we’ll see moving forward. I’d be shocked if our ‘24 class isn’t higher ranked than ‘23 just by having DJL as an extra recruiter for an entire year. Smart’s third(second full cycle) was notably better than his bump as well. Not sure if it’s portal related or something else, but it isn’t quite the same.

I imagine they beat TCU by 5 touchdowns. TCU is awful in an awful conference

Just read that 20 of this class are early enrollees. That’s huge. I haven’t seen the latest chart but we’ve got to be right around 80 scholarship players and 75+ will be here for the full offseason workout schedule plus spring.

The attrition we’ve seen was necessary to make room for these guys. There will probably be more coming (NSD additions plus transfers) and going after spring but the majority are here.

The day faired better than many anticipated. Glad that Napier kept the class together and more importantly they will be EE's and here to join the team soon. Still have some holes to fill but it looks balanced and keep getting the big DL'men.

We are sitting at a player avg. of 92.34. If we were ranking it that way it would put us at #4.

Mullen in 2021 had us at 90.51, 2020 at 90.74, 2019 at 90.56 and so on. You can see where I am going with this. I said prior to the cycle as many have is we needed to hit >92 and get close to 93 as possible. This class hit it with only 20 'croots thus far. Hopefully there is creedence to the old addage of quality not quantity. But we need bodies too. It appears quality is more important to this staff than previous azzhats.

I went as far back as 2012 when our class was #3 and still <92 player avg. I know when looking at this we're talking 2 points, but that is separating the tiers of player talent. My expectation for this class was for him to hit > 92 and currently, he did. Now next cycle needs to creep that number to closer to 93 or beyond.

We are far closer talent wise than we have been. Now we have to get them experienced. Hopefully Napier add some as he stated "we're not done yet". But in all it was a good day. Sure as hell could've been worse. And with Mullen, I am sure we'd had to burn some couches yesterday.

If you’re sitting here this morning happy with this class, you’ve given in to mediocrity.
The last 12 years have weighed you down so much, you’ve just slowly given in to to suck.

It’s like when you run into and old friend you haven’t seen in 12 years.
You’re thinking to yourself, Damn dude, you’ve let yourself go a little.
The joke is, your friend is thinking the same thing about your old ass.

Only you don’t see it.
Because, you look at yourself everyday in the mirror, and don’t notice the suttle daily changes, of aging.

We have finished 12th in the early signing period.
12th

Not top five, where we should be.
Not top 10 where Napier needed to finish to Instill some momentum in the program.
Nope

12th

On top of that, we’ve sat around with our thumbs up our azzes while others signed talent upgrades at positions of need for our program.
Mertz???????

This is where I’m at right now.

Napier is NOT a great coach.
Program builder????!
Maybe, the jury is out.

He needs an overwhelming talent advantage to put a competitive team on the field.

12th

Tired of the mediocrity.
After the debacle in Vegas, we have a hill to climb to be mediocre.

Very disappointed in the “bump” class.

Another acceptance of the suck.
Thanks for posting
I would have liked to get a couple of more guys, but under the circumstances it was a solid class, with our best quality in over 10 years. It also isn't 2005 anymore - the transfer portal has changed the game. Looking forward to see who Billy adds through the portal.

Another example of someone posting something that views everything as black and white, it's either great or it sucks. There are hundreds of other circumstances and factors now.

Billy had a better bump class than Lincoln Riley, despite USC having a good season and them owning the entire west coast. Does that add any perspective at all?

I thought you guys were all in on Napier tearing everything down and rebuilding the program?

Will 12th ranked recruiting classes rebuild us into a top 5 , perennial SEC and NC title contenders?

Youre like that old friend, keeps changing styles to tell themselves that they are smart and in the know, cool. They look in the mirror and congratulate themselves on how smooth they are. Except, everyone feels sorry for the old dude who is trying too hard and really looks like a fool and doesnt know anything. I think Ben Folds said it, "The more you know, the more you know you dont know sh*t".

The perspective I’m looking for would be Napier Vs. Kelly

Yeah, ok.
You’re like that arrogant prick that thinks he know’s everything about everyone, based off a post on a message board he disagrees with.
