For the safety of all concerned, it would be well for the bands at all college games to wait & stay seated in the stadium around 1/2 hour or so till the masses of fans exited.
Apparently the UF band exited among the masses of fans who were exiting which is pretty routine for all bands to do so. It was also noted that there were only a few exits open - all exits should be opened.
With respect...It's the U. When I saw the 2001 Sugar Bowl U vs FL...We were throttled by the Canes and the U fans were still despicable...many arrests on Bourbon and around the stadium.
Not to mention the Stadium was empty.
I hate to say it but there's truth to this.
I've never had a worse experience with fans than I did after the 2013 loss in Miami. Older dudes acting like frat guys etc. You can imagine.
During this last game I was dreading what the scene would be like if they were victorious.
My friend remarked as we were walking back to the car how quiet and tame it was after the game and I said it was because we won. We thought we escaped without any craziness but then came home and saw the band thing.
Four or five officers or deputies escorting them would be enough. Especially if you let me pick. I know some fellas in law enforcement that make the guy from “Green Mile” look small. In my experience they can turn away wanna be tough guys with just a look. For the safety of all concerned, it would be well for the bands at all college games to wait & stay seated in the stadium around 1/2 hour or so till the masses of fans exited.

And your demented, thug fans shouldn't attack them one way or the other. For the safety of all concerned, it would be well for the bands at all college games to wait & stay seated in the stadium around 1/2 hour or so till the masses of fans exited.

Not going to quote all 4 of you, but the posts above are correct. You can take precautions, and there will always be outliers in any fan base that are problems. But with um, it’s way too prevalent. My wife grew up in WP so obviously had many encounters with canes in day to day life. But her second ever game in ‘08 changed he, and that was in Gville. She couldn’t get over their behavior and has no desire to ever be around them on game day again. The world shouldn’t have to accommodate and alter normal protocols because of one fan base.
