Seems like we hear something like this every year. Hopefully a vast majority of the “silent” commits are blue chippers.
We’ll probably never know what last year’s class may have turned into if we’d not completely fallen apart. I’m guessing we still disappoint. But that one actually seemed like it had real potential.
As for this year, I’ll never understand why some of these kids who are supposedly committed don’t pull the trigger and help us gain some momentum. You can only be as good as the team by which you’re surrounded, and you’re not winning anything on your own. So why not try to create some buzz and get some others to join you?
I’ll never forget when Ivey and Jefferson said in their 2015 intro interview that they were always going to be Gators and just waited for NSD for some arbitrary reason. It was maddening. Perhaps if CCJ had thought a little more big picture, he wouldn’t have been forced to make plays only to see guys like McWilliams or Rayshad mess it up, and Ivey wouldn’t have spent the majority of his career blocking for guys named Treon, Appelby and DelRio.
I know they mean well and want to enjoy things, which they’re entitled to, but it’s actually counterproductive for their career.
