Trask isn't even the definite back up.

Is playing at Purdue better or worse than not being good enough to play in HS? :lmao2:
Serious question: If/when Trask get some playing time, are you going to be (secretly or openly) rooting against him? Answer the question honestly in the next 3 hours or you're getting a vacation.

Looks like there's a big fat OR between franks and trask. Am I missing something?

I don't see any way in hell Franks would come in over Trask looking at that Spring game. I doubt Franks has all that squared away yet. He looked 100% lost out there upstairs.

Rex, thought I don't know who the backup to AA is going to be, the unofficial depth chart isn't where to look for the truthful answer.

Can we stop using the Spring Game as a measuring stick for how good the player.

Here's an example from last years:

valdez showers will be a nice threat

Point is I remember quite a few players looking good at the Spring Game; while others looked bad but contributed more in the actual season.

Looks like Law ignored the deadline. Take some time away. :byebye:

By the way, his refusal to answer my simple question speaks volumes. He would pull for Trask to fail just to say he was right.

I understand his not understanding us signing Trask with very little experience and low stars. We really should be wanting better suited talent and I think we all agree. What I dont get is that the kid comes here and does everything right and works his tail off to be included on our roster and from the looks of it he did a decent job in the spring game. I have no idea if he will ever play a meaningful snap while he is here or not but I think he has the tools and his heart is in the right place. He is happy to be a gator either way and I hope someday he will have the opportunity to prove himself. Heck, I would venture to say he is likely better than Treon and could do a better job. I dont know, none of us do but why in the heck would a grown man hate the kid so bad? It doesnt make sense.

I don't care how much you hate someone or want to be right. The Gators trump it all.

If you think his play in Game 1 & Game 3 makes him special, there's no reason for us to continue this discussion. My point was he was about an average QB in those games. In Game 3 he finished w/ 0 TD's and 1 INT. Sure, he's probably - slightly - better than "anyone else we've got"....but he's not "head and shoulders" better. Like I said before, he very likely got the nod over AA due to his time w/ the coaches (at UF and Alabama) and his 1 year on campus learning the offense. I don't get it. Why the hell are we arguing about how bad our backup QB is?? WTF? Give the guy a chance! He threw 4 passes last week, completed half of them....and he had 4 backup OL's blocking for him (plus Fred Johnson). Del Rio wasn't playing behind Buchanan, Harkless, Desir-Jones, or TJ McCoy.
I'm not touting him as Danny or Brock but to be honest I was expecting worse. He certainly could be more aggressive on some throws but I think he understands his limitations and plays within them. That's not where the program needs to be BUT....it is.
If AA plays without taking unnecessary risk, doesn't put the defense in bad positions by going 3 and out, or worse, turn the ball over, then we'll probably sit through a 17-13 UF win....if he does more than that I'll be happier than Bert at all you can eat rib night :lol2:

If you want to see Appleby against a top 10 unbeaten team on the road, watch this starting at about the 30 min mark and on:

I certainly see his talent in this game at Iowa. I also see a bit of his throwing high on occasion.

Thanks for that. I watched the first two series in that freezing cold and he looked good. Strong accurate passes and he went 6 for 6. Not sure how the rest goes but I think we are going to be ok. Oh and I didn't realize he was 6'5" 239#.
