I have pondered his passing all day. I really wish he could have stuck around for the new season that we all are hopeful for and got to experience this new era of Gator football. I too am struggling with serious health issues and as crazy as it sounds, I just want my Gators to be back on top before I leave this earth. I will likely think of Rog during every game this year (win or lose) because I am certain he felt the same way I do. This place gave him a daily purpose and he obviously felt very connected to all of you. Sometimes we just dont know what people are dealing with and something as simple as fellowshipping with other likeminded people (or not so much) can make a huge difference in someone's life. Here is hoping for everyone to have good health. There comes a time in everyone's life that health is the only thing we have or dont have. Tell everyone in your circle you love them. Sorry to ramble.

Good points and post. We need to pick one game on the schedule and dedicate it as "Rog's Game" Win, lose, or win....that game will be his all the way. Not sure what would be appropriate to do but in some way just honor him with 'a game'. Wish we could get the "Work em silly Gators" sign in the stadium to add another for just that one game, saying something. Not sure what--perhaps as simple as "Rog's Game" or something very basic like that. It would be a nice gesture if we could come up with something.

Rog always stuck to his guns. All he ever wanted was a dominant 7 footer on the basketball team, and he never backed down from that. Even when a new big guy would get here and he would suck, Rog was ever hopefully that big would turn it around. It's a shame he won't see that happen.

Rog's first post

and his 2nd post and great shot at Wobble. Preview is the same above, but will take you to the post.

Looks like this was his first post here, after numerous people inquiring about him in that thread when this site first opened:

With my stunted brain function, I gave up forumming cold turkey ….. mostly turkey. I read the gatorcatter address from a wobble-post in swamp gas.
Glad Ox didn't let us down. Message boards are sports fields of skirmish and that gives them their contesty personalities. I prefer that involvement.

I gave it a very long overdue like. I guess that was before "likes" were enabled on this site, otherwise it would've gotten plenty based on the posted reactions.

From the very start, my old long-lost buddy @Gator Fever nailed it:

Is rogdochar here yet? Does anyone know how to get a hold of him? He's a good guy!
It wouldn't be the same without him posting here.

Wouldn't, won't and never will.

I kept hoping I wouldn't find the last post. Finding the last post means it's my turn to say something. I can't think of much to say other than Rog was always one of my favorites here and back on the old GSMB. Dude could toss puns all day and all night and still have more. Some folks had difficulty understanding his posts due to the way he said things, but after so many years I got pretty good at figuring out what he was saying. Typically when it hit you you'd end up laughing or at least chuckling a bit. What a sense of humor he had. Dammit I'm gonna miss him. RIP Rog!

Thank you Rog for all of the enjoyment you've given us during the years - you made this place so special.

I'm really gonna miss you like I have missed Cooter.

It's just a little sadder around here today, but we have all of your posts to go back through so you won't be that far away.

RIP brother

Over 25,000 posts. There are literally thousands that have hilarious puns. He was like Rodney Dangerfield, in that he never ran out.

One I remember one years ago when we were talking about a woman who for some reason sucked on the tailpipe of a car. Rog piped up with, "She must have been exhausted". I never would have thought of that joke, but it came to him instantly.

Rest in peace ROG, I had no idea how old he was or that he had recently had health issues. I will miss his witty posts, some too over my head to comprehend.

Lee, we loved Rog around here... he always managed to make you smile. Sometimes it was that bemused shake-your-head kind of smile, but always a smile. Thanks for the insight into his life... and here's hoping you'll stick around and carry on the legacy, or make your own!

Your very first post in 5 years!
That should tell you how special Rog was to so many people.

Oh man haven't been here for a couple of days and this is the first thing I saw. I didn't interact much with Rog but always enjoyed his posts, he was really witty. I hope you and your family give him the proper send off.

RIP Dr Rog. :weep:

Pro-tip for sentimental rog lovers: If you use the search feature to search keyword "rogdochar," for posts posted by yourself as the user, it will bring up your replies to his posts. It brought up five pages' worth for me. Somebody must've started chopping onions in here while I was reading them. This little exchange says it all I guess.

Does an archeologist get upset when his career is in ruins.?

Sorry so late for posting here, but recieved bad news about my sister yesterday and logging on and reading about rog was just a double gut punch. I always imagined he was the dentist that helped me out as a young man by doing alot of work each sitting for very little money.
He didn't turn out to be the same doctor but I'm sure he did the same many times.
I care for everyone here more than I ever thought possible but, rog was truly like a family member, my last uncle it seems.
Cooter, now Rog and this place will never be the same but, hopefully some lurkers who came out just to post in this thread will hang around. That would be as great of a memorial as anything we could do. RIP Rog.

Not sure what the bad news was regarding your sister but we're all hoping things get better and are praying for you and your family.

Well shttttt......but Lee's tribute about Rog was wonderful. To say he had a way with words is like saying Spurrier had a way with QBs. He brought so much to the board in such funny cryptic ways. Lee's story completed the story about an amazing man. We were all fortunate to read his work.
