Texas A&M...the team that was a Sumlin-led shytshow with 4 consecutive 5-loss season, has the 3rd ranked class. I don’t have a “we should win a national championship every year” expectation, but making excuses of “we’ve had a bad run and it takes time to recover” just don’t hold water.

Jimbo fking Fisher has a 3rd ranked class...if that glass-licking moron can do it, why shouldn’t we expect at least a top 10?

I have literally zero belief that the people that run the University of Florida have even remotely close to the same desire to win football games as the people who run Texas A&M. Recruits will follow the huge money that the Aggies are throwing at football. And that glass licking moron wears his NC ring while visiting recruits.

This is unfortunately far too true.

And there are about thirty or forty other programs in the same boat as Tam.

Fair enough. Let’s leave Bama, Georgia and aTm off the list. Here’s the rest:

LSU
Oklahoma
Clemson
Oregon
Texas
Michigan
Penn State
Notre Dame
Arkansas
FSU
Auburn
Washington
Tennessee

A lot of state of the art facilities and NC rings being waived.

Yeah, but Tinerc and Arkansas are powerful programs who haven't been dead for a decade like us. /sarcasm off

Resignation. No fight. No anger even.

He is one step from complete apathy.

I waver out of anger into apathy myself. Frankly, I wish I could just let go completely. It is clear this isnt changing, probably wont change even in the next decade. Start over in 2021-2023 with another mediocre hire and the hope of a rebuild starting someday.

But some are resigned to just treading water and not going 4-8 I guess.

I cant believe we pay a top 6 salary for this. I cant.
The salary thing is very disappointing.

It's not just about the rankings. It's not filling the needs.
BINGO. The ranking would be acceptable if he got some big butt DLs, fully grown LBs and safeties that could tackle and cover. We got none of those. NONE.

The class could still be "acceptable" to me (key word ... me), if the above holes are met on NSD AND Mullen makes positive personnel changes to his recruiting dept AND acknowledges that this class is not acceptable to HIM.

He could say "We got great kids, but missed on some that are critical. We will look at our approach and correct accordingly".

I thought one of the traits he had was a hatred of losing. Well, his program, our team, lost.

All we need now is to get our asses handed to us by Michigan.

I know, I'm a dumper.

I became apathetic before the season started.

Didn't watch a single game. I recorded each one, but only watched to check on progress of the OL and DBs. I wasn't going to judge Mullen by the W-L record ... GOOD or bad. I was going to judge him by his recruiting class.

It appears, He and his staff failed... miserably.

He still has NSD, he still has the option of acknowledging the failure (which, btw, would be the smart thing to do ... even politicians know it's much better to acknowledge a **** up and get in front of it), he still has the option to change/upgrade staff.

Otherwise...

I guess I'm the Sunshine Pumper of Chatter?

We picked up 20...No 5* but more 4* then previous years.

We got a real nice OL group...To me this is second most important

We got another fairly good QB...4* with wheels

We've got LBs

And we still have another signing day.

2019 was not great but not bad...and not over.

2020 even looks better.

This was NOT the case the past 8 years.

Depressing to see where our fearless leader has fallen.
Yawn. I'll ask again: what good would pissing and moaning and bashing the staff do right now? It wouldn't make me feel any better. I think I AM being a leader by not freaking out about something I have no control over. Whether Mullen will ever lead the Gators to a single title I don't know, but I do think he's at the very least the transitional coach this program desperately needed. I'm willing to give him more time giving what he inherited.

I have plenty of personal problems. The Gators actually gave me some joy this season for the first time in many years. I expect them, for the first time in many years, to actually give me some joy NEXT season, which is a warm feeling. I'm not worried about trophies being hoisted right now. It's going to take YEARS to dig out of this mess, especially with so many teams passing us by (both in brand and facilities).

Just let me know when I should burn my Gator stuff and throw poo at BHG stadium.

Is that FireMullen thread started yet?

After Kentucky, no one on this board thought we had a single sniff at 10 wins, yet here we are. EVERYTHING was working against Mullen this season. He's got an AD and a President who don't give two sh!ts about the football program. Our facilities are a hideous mess, with players calling the dorms "Section 8 housing". Frankly, it's a miracle what Mullen has done this year. I'm not going to bash him at this point. I'm just not.

Having a hard time with UT, Washington, Arky and FSU being a head of us....I said I would be forgiving of a 10-12 ranked class as long as it went a long way with roster development but we are at a critical state in the DT position and need to shore up the LB and DB's also.....We might need to visit the transfer and JuCo aisle again as much as I'd like to see us get off the need in the near future.

I think what is happening in Bama and UG is an absolute joke. Recruits are not hiding it anymore with the fancy cars and the bag men. Wtf has Georgia done that gets them a top 2 class two years in a row. Fvvk they can field an entire team of 5 stars at this point.

I was reading an article just the past few months, and it actually rated our facilities higher than Georgia. No idea if that is true or not, but I am not buying this facilities crap.

Ranking the Top 25 facilities in college football for 2018

I am hoping Mullen is more of a Dabo than a Richt, recruiting quality QBs and doing more with teens in talent ranking. Dabo had a rocky start especially after the drop off in his first full year as a coach (or second year as a HC). I honestly think we will have a drop off in performance next year, and hopefully everything comes together in year 3.

Like OX, I enjoyed the past season and look forward to the bowl game and next season. I also think our recruiting class is slightly above what it is ranked now, mainly because OL are underrated, and Steele hopefully signed with the good guys but has not declared.
